I enjoy that show called "The Other Half." It's like that show with Barbara Walters, Lisa Ling, etc., except with guys! Mario Lopez (the guy who played Slater in "Saved by the Bell") is one of the hosts on "The Other Half." It's an amusing show, I tell you. Mario Lopez is so adorable! Hee.

Oh man. I just read Mimi's blog about how her bf Nick doesn't really take care of things she gives to him. Mimi, I would be soooo MAD! *grrr* But then, I don't really give him things that could break or die. Except a bamboo plant. Which had better still be alive and well! A bamboo plant is supposed to be good luck; I hope it's not bad luck if it dies ...
Dude, I was just watching my fish Elfroy right now, and I think he yawned. Or burped. Something that involved randomly opening his mouth REALLY wide. Hee. I didn't know fish yawned.
What do I do if I hear back from an internship (good news) that I kind of want BEFORE I hear back from an internship I REALLY want (also good news)? Should I stall them until I hear back from the other one? What if I end up saying yes to the first one, and the one I really want calls me later and says they want me too? Hmm. Things look good for the one that I kind of want. The lady actually responded to my thank you email/letter (which is something that has not happened to me before) to tell me she had a nice time meeting me, and she actually told me the answer to a question I asked during the interview that she didn't know the answer to and had to ask her supervisor about. Hmm. Not sure what to do. Any help/advicce/suggestions from y'all would be stupendous!

I watched the Miss Universe Pageant last night, and I decided I could never be in a beauty pageant. I'm just not graceful enough. I would fall flat on my face wearing some of those shoes. Ugh *shudder*
I thought the Spanish translator did a marvelous job. He made Miss Venezuela's and Miss Dominion Republic's responses sound really, really good, even though they were using a translator. The fact that he'd done a good job showed in the two of them becoming Miss Universe and the First-Runner-Up. I did not like Miss Serbia and Montenegro. Her answers were ditzy; she didn't even fully comprehend the question that she was answering! I can't believe she actually placed ABOVE Miss Japan. But truly, Miss Japan's translator was TERRIBLE. I think that was a big factor in why she lost so badly. Her translator FORGOT part of what she said, and made her sound really stupid. Poor girl. She would have had a better chance with a better translator.

I'm sometimes frustrated when I talk to Nick on the phone. I mean, it's always really great to talk to him because he's so far away, and that's the only source of contact we have. There's just this feeling I have though, where I feel like sometimes I am not just PART of the conversation, but I AM the conversation. It's a little like talking to myself, and I feel bad about monopolizing the conversation. Hmm. Maybe it's a guy thing, but I just wish he were a little more responsive. *sigh*
Something interesting that I found out from Nick last night. The term "rice rocket" is not only used for Asian people who, er, "improve" on their cars anymore. He informed me that it has become a more general term for just suped up cars now. Huh. He was like, "There are probably more rice rockets in my town than there are Asian people who drive them!" Wow. Live and learn, eh? I did not know the meaning of the word had evolved in such a way.
Today my dad and I plotted out a practice route from my house to school. It was interesting. I can't drive on the freeway because I'm just starting to drive for real, so we had to take surface streets. I accidentally took a wrong turn, and I ended up driving down this one street in Downtown that was full of homeless people. It was a little scary. There were tents filling up the sidewalks of the street, and I kept having to stop because they would just stroll across the street, not caring that there were cars coming. That is definitely one street that would be scary to drive down at night. What if someone jumped out in front of your car, and you didn't see them until it was too late?!
