Got my second chickenpox shot yesterday. Now my upper arm is in pain. >:( Can't lift it very high.
I did a little bit of snooping around online yesterday. I was reading someone's blog, and I suddenly realized that they had a list of other blogs on the side. Then I recognized someone's name, so I went to that blog, and found more people on there too. All these blogs belonged to people I knew in high school, so it was strange to find out they had blogs and to read about what they were doing. I went down each list on every blog I found until I got tired. It's dawned upon me that I am one of those people that go away to college and lose touch with everyone. These people that I knew (granted, I didn't particularly care for them nor was I actually good friends with anyone) seemed to have kept in touch with a lot of their high school friends. Hmm. The only person I truly make an effort to keep in touch with is Mimi. (Eva doesn't count because we go to the same school and belong to the same organization. So of course we'd still be in touch with each other. We wouldn't even have to try very hard, given the circumstances of our connections to each other.) I feel bad that people probably think I've fallen off the face of the earth and that I'm such an ... island in this post-high school situation, but at the same time, I'm not too broken up about it either. High school life quickly soured after certain ... events occurred, and I don't miss it much. I keep in touch with the few people that truly mattered to me. I guess sometimes there are some things, some people that you outgrow.

My Tagboard has had "technical difficulties" the last two days. Boo!
I am in search of a big-ass spider that lives in my room. Every time I see it, I try to catch and squash it, but it keeps scuttling away whenever I lift up the tissue paper. It's a dark color, so I'm not sure if it's a black widow. I hope I find it soon. I don't want to get bitten randomly one night while I'm asleep.

Hmm. I found a piece I wrote for our internal newsletter. I gave the file to boss boss after I wrote it and corrected the things he wanted me to change, since he had to email it to our editor. I looked up the posted version today on our intranet, and it barely even resembles what I originally wrote! Boo! After being at the top, I forgot what it's like to be on the bottom of the editing food chain. You get your stuff back with comments and changes written all over.

I think I am running through a patch of bad luck as far as driving goes. Or maybe little, ordinary things happen to me every day, and I just think too much about them and make them seem like a big deal to myself. Or maybe it's just my inexperience. TWO dogs ran across the street today in front of my car. I DIDN'T HIT THEM. (Just wanted to make that clear because you all probably just gasped and clapped your hands on your cheeks. The dogs are fine.) I stopped in time. But ... I can't help but feel like I'm a little cursed as far as this driving thing goes. I mean, not ONE, but TWO dogs. (Well, they were running together so it wasn't like two separate incidents, but still.) Then there's that whole accident thing earlier this month. Every time I drive through an intersection and the light turns yellow, my heart pounds. I'm a little bit discouraged at this point. Maybe I have evil spirits surrounding me or something. I should go to the Buddhist temple and pray. Burn some incense and pray. (Even though technically, I'm not a Buddhist.) Perhaps it will give me some peace of mind.
By the way, the insurance thing with my car has not been resolved yet. It's still damaged. It's not too bad though. You can't even really tell unless you get up close to it.
I spent my day at New Employee Orientation. (Luckily, more people came to this one, and they didn't cancel it.) Learned some interesting things. Like how KP does not allow any smoking on their premises. If you are a smoker, they make you go out onto the sidewalk because that's public property, so they can't tell you NOT to smoke there. Met some cool people, including another intern from another floor that I think boss boss and uber-boss will send me to interview because they might want to do a story on various company interns, and we're the same age. He's nice. Hung out with a pair of really funny, dorky guys, but I had a lot of fun talking to them. Laughed a lot.
The thing that kept me going whenever I hit a rough patch today (like when I was totally freaked out about the dogs running into the street) was the dream I woke up from: Being held in Nick's arms, cheek against a crisp white cotton T-shirt.

Thanks to the DUMBASS who caused Mimi to take away her comment options on her blog. Dude, it's her blog, and she can write whatever she wants on it. If you don't like it, DON'T READ IT. No one's pointing a gun to your head and forcing you to read it.
Yesterday I went out with Brenda. (I was excited because that's the first time all summer I've made plans to go out with anyone ...) We ate at P.F. Chang's, and then saw Legally Blonde 2. It was a cute movie, but not as good as the first one. It was just not as ... believable. The Congress thing was just a little more farfetched to believe than the Harvard thing. In the first one, she was so smart, you know (in a twisted fashion sense kind of way), and you can tell they tried to do the same thing in this one, but it didn't quite come out as well. She didn't come off as so smart in this one. I'm glad I finally made plans and went out with someone. It was fun. I hate to say it, but Stefan was right. He told me I should call up some of my friends and go out because it would cheer me up from the whole long distance relationship thing, and it worked! Wow, who would have known?
On another note, Nick is now actually serious about applying to U of Texas. I thought it was one of his passing thoughts, like he was just thinking out loud when he first told me about it, but then we talked about it again last night and he told me he was serious. Shitshitshitshitshitshit. Long distance for two or three years on end?! *argh* :T
I'm also a little upset that Nick will not see his bday present on his bday. I sent it to him early so he would get it in time for his bday, but then his family decided to leave this weekend to go on a family vacation. So he won't even be home all week, and he won't be around to open my present. He'll see it the week after, when he gets back. :(
