Looks like plans to go out for Brenda's birthday tonight are going to fall through. Boo! I'm kinda frustrated about this.
Oh my gosh. So many errands to run before now and Wednesday. I've begun making lists, that's how bad it is; I can't remember everything, so I have to write it down. I have to admit though, it gives me great satisfaction to cross things off. Hehe.

Well, today was my last day at work. Rather anticlimatic. Lots of people took the day off, so I didn't get to say bye to some people that I wanted to see before I left, but oh well. Boss boss wasn't even there because he was on vacation, and uber-boss left after lunch. What a bummer. Before I left, I wrote a nice message to everyone I hung out with in the department thanking them for making my time at KP so enjoyable. :)
And so ... the internship search begins again ...
I'm going to see Eva and Meems this weekend. Yay! Lots of catching up to do!
I was telling Pisey about my Sephora makeover hopes yesterday. Hehe. I want to get a makeover at Sephora. But they have some expensive stuff there, and I don't want them to use all the expensive stuff on me when I get a makeover. Then I'd be pretty, but OH-SO-BROKE. So I devised this plan where I would be all clever about what kind of makeover I want. So they'd ask me, "So what kind of look are you interested in?" And I'd casually say, "Oh, something fresh and simple ... not too overdone ... an everyday fresh-faced look that would be inexpensive to maintain." Emphasis on "inexpensive." Hehe. Oh well. Don't think I'm actually going to go anyway. But it was fun thinking about it. :p

I met a representative from the LA County American Diabetes Association today and did some shameless networking. I asked if she had any internship openings at her office, and she got very excited before giving me her business card to contact her later. Hehe.
Got my car back today. It's so bright and shiny! (I think they washed and waxed the car before we came to get it.)
Yesterday went to visit the Public Affairs department in Orange County, one of the service areas. Our pople jokingly referred to it as "life in the trenches." They do so much over there with such a small staff! We are divided into smaller departments beyond Public Affairs because we work in the regional offices, but in the service areas, everybody is one department, and the work is not divided into categories like govt, community, internal, media, etc. I listened to all the duties their intern had, and I was totally dumbfounded. I felt like such a slacker comparing her job with mine! Hehe.
Ben wants me to go visit his class on the first day so I can talk about how much it helped me, and about my internship experience this summer. Hehe. I feel so accomplished to be asked to go visit a college class as a guest speaker!

What is with guys being nice to you until they find out you have a boyfriend? Then, all of a sudden, you see their facial expression change and they're not acting as nice to you anymore.
My George Foreman Grill came today!
My IKEA catalog came today!
Yay! All is good in the land of Jenny. ;)

Horror of horrors! MY DAD CALLED NICK "MARK"! What the hell?! He started talking about some guy named Mark today at dinner, and I was like, "Uh, who's Mark?" with a sinking feeling he was actually talking about Nick. And I was right! Mark! Where the hell did that come from? For God's sake, it's been a year and half now, and they still don't know my boyfriend's name?!

Finally spoke to uber-boss on Friday about staying in the fall. She said she'll have to think about it because their budgets are being slashed 6% for next year, and she's not sure if they have the funds to keep me. But I already knew that. Just thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. And I can always decline in the end. *shrug* We'll see.
My dad was aghast at the fact that I was going to ask Nick to help me move some of my stuff the weekend of Move-In Week. He's like, "You shouldn't bother people if you don't need to." Ummm ... Hello? Isn't that what boyfriends do? They're supposed to be there if you need help; it's part of being a good provider. It's part of proving that they can take good care of you. That's like me making dinner when I know Nick has class until 10 pm. It's part of taking care of each other. Sheesh. What is it with the damned Asian thing about owing people? Does he want me to be with someone that doesn't take good care of me? Ugh. Just imagine, if you were with someone who won't even help you out with such a simple thing as helping you move, what would it be like being married to them?! Sorry to be all hunter-gatherer, but heeeeelllllllloooooo?! What a BAD provider! Humph. :/ Besides, it's not like I'm not going to help him move either. I'm going to help him move in too, so WHAT IS SO WRONG ABOUT HIM HELPING ME?! Nick even expected to help me because when I said I would probably do move my things in spurts, he said he'd come out here with me on the weekend and help me move some things. Grrr. This is why I don't like traditional Asian boys. (Americanized ones are alright because for the most part, they tend to think like me.) This whole owing/owed/bothering/don't-bother-other-people has been pounded into us ever since we were kids. Ex-bf never lifted a hand to help me with anything! Boo!
