So, tonight I discovered chicken in a can. Very cool. I'm guessing also very bad for you because it's canned chicken and probably is pumped up with preservatives, but still. Eliminates the need for defrosting! Oh geez, I am in love! Haha. :) I made chicken veggie stuff to go over rice. Not bad, not bad at all!

Someone today said I looked like a freshman and totally looked like he was going to fall over in surprise when I told him I was actually a senior. I was nice and only smiled sweetly and said, "Yes, I get carded a lot." I suppose in twenty years, I'll appreciate that everyone thinks I'm younger.

Spent all day at ADA work faxing press releases and then calling team captains from a gi-normous list to ask everyone to send in their team rosters. Whee! Then went to MEH work where I mindlessly checked things in online for three or four hours. Was not bad. Restful. Peaceful. No one was there at work with me, so I got to zone out while working.

Kitty craves lots of attention. Comes and meows a lot at Shannon when she's sitting in her chair and starts scratching at her chair. Hee. (Did I ever mention his name is Jack Sparrow?!)

Oh so, last night, I realized I've never been licked by a dog before. Cuz I was totally just thinking about the cat licking my hand, and I asked Nick, "What do dogs' tongues feel like when they lick you? Do they feel like sandpaper?" He said that was just cats. Dogs' tongues, apparently, just feel like a wet tongue. Hmm. But his roommates were there in the room when I asked the question, and they looked at me all dumbfounded and were like, "You've never been licked by a dog?! Wow, you've really been sheltered!" Hmm. I guess so. I mean, I've never had a pet. That's why I'm afraid of other people's pets when I go visit them.

Still trying to save money.

Progress:
1.) Bought a Tazo Tea Lemonade from Starbucks because it was a dollar less than my usual White Mocha. Oh my gosh. It was so gross. I did not like it at all. But I forced myself to drink the rest of it because, damn it, I had paid for it, and I was going to drink what I paid for! Hehe. Yeah, I know, I'm stubborn.

2.) Made dinner for myself tonight. Discovered the joys of chicken in a can! Hehe.

Setbacks
1.) Went to Starbucks.

2.) Bought two bottles of Arbor Mist on my way home.

Jenny's Road to Saving Money: (and damn, it is a long, hard road!)

Progress:
1.) Have not been to Starbucks as much as normal. Stopped putting money on my Starbucks gift card, so as to make myself more aware of how much money I have actually spending there. Am saving approximately $20 a month.

2.) Have not bought shoes, even though there was Shoe-Lover's Weekend at Payless, where it was buy two pairs and get the third free. (Wahh!)

3.) Have not bought any makeup in a month or so, which is good since Nick points out that I rarely wear any in the first place.

4.) Have not gone to any craft stores recently.

5.) Went grocery shopping and spent less than $40. (for two weeks)

6.) Cleaned out the trunk of my car because Dad said that would give me better gas mileage.

7.) Gas prices have dropped to below $2 a gallon. Whoopee!

Setbacks:
1.) Drive either too much or too far. (Probably a little bit of both.) Pay too much for gas.

2.) Went shopping this weekend. Spent too much money. Lots of CUTE sweaters!

3.) Had to pay for the GRE. Wow, they charge SOOOO much for one stupid test!

4.) Eat out with Nick too much.

Things that have happened in the last week:

*Person that hit my car called me back. Took car to four body shops on Wednesday to get estimates, since he was thinking of just paying me off instead of reporting it to insurance.

*Met with my academic advisor (already!) to figure out my classes for next semester.

*Had a fight with Nick and made up. A very tense two days. (But everything's ok now.)

*Limeade + peach schnapps + Malibu Rum = "Ummmm ... good ..."

*APO drama died down ... A little.

*Realized that I have two research proposals to write for my final projects in two classes.

*Went shopping over the weekend. As always, spent too much money.

*Baked brownies today to relieve some stress. Will dispose of them tomorrow at APO meeting. Discovered there weren't any toothpicks in our apartment, so I didn't know if the brownies were done yet. Ran upstairs and asked Suzanne for some. Good thing, because brownies were definitely not done yet. The saddest part of it was, I actually considered using a disposable chopstick (Makeshift toothpick -- just really LARGE!) before I remembered that Suzanne lived upstairs and I could probably go ask her for some.

*Decided to clean out the trunk of my car. Dad looked at all the crap that was in there, and was like, "You shouldn't keep so much back here. It reduces mileage." Damn, makes sense. So, gonna take some of those boxes out. Although, I've been getting pretty good mileage for a 9-year car. I've been getting approximately 25 miles per gallon on city streets. My dad says that's not bad for an old car.

*Mom got me a crapload of vitamins. Went home, and she was all, "Look at all the vitamins I got you!" Hmm. Vitamins B, D, A, C, calcium, iron, etc.

*Visited the temple. Mom and Dad insisted that we had to pray and get my car blessed to get rid of the bad vibes surrounding it. Hmm. Anything to get rid of my current bad car luck, I guess. I always feel kind of stupid going to the temple because I always have the sneaking suspicion that I am doing things incorrectly (i.e., incorrect praying posture or something), and I feel like I am defiling the temple because I'm not doing things right, even if I'm doing the best I can. Had an interesting conversation with my sister in which I admitted I pray in English to Chinese gods and asked if that was bad, and she was like, "Well, I do it too ... The way I see it, religion is pretty much a universal thing. So if I talk to them in English, they should be able to understand me too. Besides, if I talk to them in Chinese, what if it's harder for them to understand me because I can't speak Chinese well?! Then I'd be doubly screwed." Hee. It was funny. I wish I were that deep to think about stuff like that on my own. :p
