Oh, I'm so sad. I was looking at puppies online at puppyfind.com, and it seems that bulldogs are the #1 searched-for puppies on that site. And they're so expensive! Wahhh! :*( They're like ... $1,000+ for one puppy. I'm so depressed. $1,000+ for one bulldog puppy?! Then I looked at pugs, which ranged $500-$850. Then I looked at dachsunds (wiener dogs), which were approximately $500. But then I was thinking, how do people just buy puppies online?! Don't they want to interact and see the puppies first before they buy them? What if you get a surly dog or an agressive one?

Oh my gosh. I seriously just read (at work) in a publisher's magazine about a newly published book called "Booty Food." It really made me laugh out loud so hard because it sounded so ridiculous. Cuz you know ... it's food ... for getting booty. Hee.

I'm done! No more final projects, no more final exams. Whee!

Finally dropped off the cat. Sheesh. What an ordeal to get him to Darlene. Luckily I checked Shannon's answering machine when I noticed the light blinking. I felt bad for invading her privacy, but I didn't know what to do about the cat, and I was hoping the message would be from the woman that was taking Jack over the break. And it was! So, apparently, she lives in Valencia, which is like 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours away from here. On a good day at the good time! On the 405! (Which is one of the shittiest, most crowded, trafficky freeways ever. Boo!) Anyway, neither one of us was willing to drive all the way over to the other person's house, so we finally settled on meeting up somewhere in between. (Although I think I got the short end of the deal, since I had to drive further.) So I had to call Blush and Sarah to postpone our plans for dinner that night, and they said it was ok if we ate a late dinner. I was supposed to call them after I got home from dropping off the cat, and then we'd go out to dinner. So off I rushed to take the cat to Darlene.

First, I had to have Suzanne help me while I carried Jack to the car, since I didn't want to risk him getting away from me while I was opening doors and stuff. I think he was pretty scared because he's a house cat and has never been outside the apartment, so he kept meowing really loudly the whole way down to the car. The second I put him in the car, he jumped out of the box I had put in the car just for him and hid under my driver's seat. Shitty. I decided I could not let him stay there because what if he managed to crawl out under my feet while I was driving?! That would have been dangerous. So Suzanne and I spent half an hour trying to get him out from under my driver's seat. A couple times, I almost got him out, but then he dug his claws in, and I couldn't get his head out. After half an hour, I gave up. I felt around under my seat and decided, since there was a little ridge right before the edge of my seat in the front, that he could not crawl out under my feet. There was only one way: back into the back seat. Besides, I decided I totally had to go because Sarah and Blush were waiting for me get back to eat dinner with them and Darlene would waiting for the cat. By then, it was 7:45. Drove off in a rush to Van Nuys, which is forty-five minutes to an hour away from here. Jack hid under my seat the whole time.

Got to the mall where we were meeting around 8:30. Left Jack in the car, since I figured we could just get him out once I found Darlene and she moved her car next to mine. Turned out the parking structure was totally on the OTHER side of the mall where I was supposed to be. Ran through the mall like a madwoman. Finally found the store we were supposed to be meeting in front of. Didn't see her. Ran all the way around the store in case there were other exits or entrances that she might be waiting in front of. Was grabbing my head and cursing under my breath the whole time. Did not find any other exits or entrances with a woman of her description standing in front. Returned to main entrance. She was there. Introduced ourselves. Decided to drive her car up to my car so we wouldn't have to walk all over the structure with the cat and risk him running away from us.

Got into Darlene's car. Drove around parking structure. Got lost. No stupid security guards around to ask where the heck to go. Got lost some more. Finally spotted my car across the way, over a center divider. Drove around some more trying to find a way to cross that center divider. Got lost some more. Ended up on the way we were originally going when we first spotted my car. Gave up trying to find a way over the center divider and made Darlene park while I hopped the center divider on foot and ran off to my car. (Seriously! I know it sounds really weird, but I really did hop the center divider because I was so frustrated that we'd passed my car two or three times already without being able to find a route over the center divider when I could clearly see it parked right across the way.) Much internal cursing. Did not curse out loud because did not want to offend Darlene, as she is a middle-aged mother of two and seemed very nice and polite. Carried all of Jack's food and stuff to Darlene's car, each time hopping the center divider.

Finally set to the task of getting Jack out from under the seat. (Yes, even after all that time, he was still hiding under the seat.) Pulled and grabbed. Darlene moved the seat around. Kept pulling and grabbing. Finally got a good hold of him around his middle. Kept pulling. He dug his claws deep into the carpet; I could not get him to budge. Held him with one arm while using one hand to detach his claws from the carpet. Finally got him out. Put him in a box and covered the top. Carried him to Darlene's car. Whew.

Called Blush and Sarah before leaving the place. It was already 9:00. Apologized profusely for ruining our dinner plans. They said they got hungry and were going to Panda Express; did I want to just meet them there when I got back? I agreed. Drove like a madwoman back home and to our nearby Panda Express. Met up with them and ate with gusto. Was not as good as our original plans for dinner, but was still good because of the company. :) They listened to my story about what happened with getting the cat to Darlene, and we talked about lots of things. They made me laugh and lifted my low spirits from having to see Nick off at the shuttle that morning to the whole cat ordeal that night. I am grateful for my friends.
