Bah. At work again. It's sad that I work so much for so little money. Or maybe it's that I spend too much for what I earn. In any case, I'm poor. Hehe. Yesterday I spent my whole workday surreptitiously working on a paper. It was a productive use of my time. (Dont worry, I even got some work done here too!) It's just annoying that now there's so many people doing my job and they won't go back to doing their original job once they see we no longer need them doing my job! Grrr. Go away and leave me my work, damn it.
Job hunting sucks. I am only feeling heartened because today I went to our department's career development counselor to ask for some better resources that the crapola accounting job listings they have on MonsterTRAK, and he did not seem surprised that I was just now starting. In fact, he said I was a little early. Huh. That's so weird, because I know business majors and other people who have been searching all last semester and are still searching. So I don't even know who to believe. It's giving me a headache.
I'm craving shrimp. I went downstairs to the lunch room and smelled someone's lunch being microwaved that had shrimp in it, and now I'm so envious. Shit. SHRIMP! Stupid allergies.

(on Valentine's Day, after my failed attempt to have Nick write me a list of 50 things he likes about me)
Nick: You know, I woke up early today just to write that list.
Jenny: But I thought you weren't going to do it!
Nick: Yeah, but then I thought I would be sweet and maybe write a couple things down.
Jenny: Ok, so where's the list then?
Nick: Uh, I kept thinking and thinking, and the only thing that kept coming to mind was the thing that first attracted me to you and made me fall for you: It's that you're a *horrible* dancer!
Jenny: What?!
I think I am slowly sinking into a phase where I don't really want to do anything. I'm just not motivated. I don't want to work hard in my classes, don't want to search for a job, don't want to search for a place to live. And here's the shocker: I don't even feel like cooking! *gasp* I don't know what is wrong, but I just don't feel motivated to do anything. Well, I guess that's not entirely true. I go to work regularly and a lot, but that's just so I can have money.
(as we stare at the restaurant sign)
Nick: What does "Japanese Fusion Restaurant" mean?
Jenny: I don't know. That word "fusion" worries me.
Nick: Yeah, I know, I want Japanese food, but what is this "fusion" stuff?
Jenny: I don't know, but I'm imagining sushi hamburgers!

Caroline's mom is visiting her until Thursday. They look a lot alike. It was a little odd watching them interact the other night because they just seemed so cool with each other. They just sat there talking about TV shows, like good friends. I felt a little envious because I've never quite had a moment like that with my own mother, and I wonder what it's like. To be friends, I mean. It's like one of those Gilmore-Girls-Rory-and-Lorelai relationships that I always wished I had with my mother but never did. Our conversations are generally punctuated by long, awkward, uncomfortable silences and usually consist of her talking to me and me not really listening. I could blame it on the language barrier, but I think it has to be more than that. After all, Meems and her mom get along fine. So I don't really know what it is that went wrong somewhere along the way.
Nick has a cold, so this weekend has been full of taking care of him. We went to a Chinese supermarket to buy some green tea. Oddly enough, he likes hardcore green tea with all the bitterness, etc. Anyway, he's been drinking a lot of tea to make his sore throat better. I think it's more of a sore throat and congested sinuses type of cold. He's not coughing or sneezing, so that's a good sign. He also has plenty of cough drops, which makes me a little worried because he keeps popping them like they're candy.
We went to watch Cold Mountain and thought it was just ok. There was more nudity in there than I would have liked, including a love scene between Jude Law and Nicole Kidman in which lots of butt was shown. We were sort of traumatized.
We sat next to this really stupid couple during the movie. The girl kept talking and asking her boyfriend what was going on, and then he'd have to explain the whole thing to her. She was also one of those stupid girls who makes "awww ..." and "oh my god" sounds every time something shocking happens in a movie. On top of that, I kept hearing wet kissing noises throughout the movie. Gahh. So PDA. Meanwhile, Nick and I are just sitting there, trying to watch the movie. Oh my goodness, it was so stupid. At the end of the movie, she was totally bawling incontrollably, and her boyfriend had to hug her and hold her in his arms until she calmed down. How stupid is that?! Nick and I were totally like, Dude, this girl is so retarded!
